PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for supporting the HR team in various administrative tasks and ensuring efficient operations in a fast-paced produce environment. As a minimum, this role involves: HR administrative-type duties; Maintaining employee records; Assisting with recruitment and retention efforts; Facilitating onboarding and orientation processes; Assisting with employee training and professional development; Managing job descriptions and employee performance evaluation programs; Processing background checks; Maintaining organization charts; Assisting with Workman’s compensation program, employee recognition and incentive programs, developing career paths, cross-training programs, and succession plans; Maintaining the employee handbook; and Ensuring compliance with labor laws and safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Certification / License:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (Preferred).
- Valid driver’s license
Experience:
- Previous experience in HR or administrative roles (Preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR software (e.g., Paylocity)

- Bilingual - English & Spanish (Preferred).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Employee Records Management:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, attendance, and performance evaluations. This includes complying with record retention and record destruction requirements.
- Recruitment Support:
o Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
- Onboarding and Orientation processes:
o Facilitate the onboarding of new hires, including preparing orientation materials, conducting initial orientations, and ensuring completion of all necessary documentation.
- Training Coordination:
o Organize and track employee training programs, ensuring compliance with mandatory safety and operational training requirements.
- Employee Support:
o Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures, providing timely and accurate information.
- Compliance Monitoring:
o Assist in ensuring compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies, including maintaining necessary documentation and reporting.
- HR Administration:
o Perform general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining HR databases, while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Job descriptions:
o Ensure each position has a current job description on file and manage the annual validation of all job descriptions.
- Performance evaluations:
o Assist in managing the evaluation process, and ensure they are conducted on a regular basis.
- Process background checks on new employees as directed.
- Develop and maintain current organization charts.
- Assist with the administrative tasks associated with the workman’s compensation program.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and managing the employee recognition and incentive programs.
- Assist the HR team in developing, implementing, and managing employee professional development training, career development paths, cross-training programs, succession plans, and HR Continuity binder.
- Assist in updating and maintaining the employee handbook.
- Managing and maintaining all mandatory labor posters, and ensuring they are current and visible.
- Follow all safety procedures/guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Report employee accidents, safety hazards, equipment issues, and quality issues promptly.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) as needed.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or requested.

Pay: $14.43 - $19.23 per hour
