EDDA Dental Assistant

Little Bee Pediatric Dentistry is a pediatric dental office committed to providing compassionate, high-level dental care to our patients and families. We want to create a warm, welcoming environment where children will feel comfortable and have fun! We seek to provide a tailored approach to meet each child’s needs, often thinking creatively to provide positive outcomes for our patients and their families. We are a start-up practice that is growing quickly, and looking for a dental assistant (EDDA) to join our team.

We are searching for someone who is compassionate, dedicated, patient, and enjoys working with children. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be a strong team player.

Responsibilities include sterilization, preparing treatment rooms, taking radiographs, coronal polishing, fluoride application, sealants, educating patients and families about oral hygiene and home care, nutritional counseling, managing patient comfort, taking impressions, assisting the dentist with in-office dental procedures, oral sedation, and hospital dentistry. Travel is required to the hospital (Children’s Hospital New Orleans or St. Tammany Parish Hospital) on surgery days. The EDDA may be asked to assist with administrative duties as needed. Pediatric dental experience is preferred for this position.

Requirements:

· Louisiana State Board of Dentistry EDDA certification

· X-ray certification

· CPR/BLS

· Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience

· Knowledge of pediatric dental procedures, instruments, terminology

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Enjoy working with children and making them feel comfortable, building positive relationships with the families of our practice

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively

Schedule: 3 days a week

· Tuesday and Wednesday (8am-4pm), Friday (8am-2pm)

· We are planning to be open a fourth day toward the end of the year
