Little Beginnings is a family-owned childcare center looking for a qualified Program Director to lead our school community! We are looking for a candidate who is kind, hard-working, organized, and excited to join our small, well-established and highly rated school.
Applicants must have the very strong communication, collaboration, behavior management and leadership skills needed to support our hard working and dedicated teachers. They must have the confidence to handle challenges head on while still maintaining the empathy needed to handle them with great care and concern for all involved.
The ideal candidate is someone whose favorite part of their job is working cooperatively with teachers to help their classrooms and students succeed. This is a 100% non-teaching position that is designed for a Director who loves playing an active role in the classrooms they oversee.

Qualified applicants must have:
2 years serving in a Director or Program Supervisor role
A 4-year degree in ECE or a related field
Previous teaching experience with ages 12 weeks-8 years old
EEC Director II Certification
Additional training in the areas of behavior management & staff development

Little Beginnings has an on-site owner/business manager who handles all financial matters, inventory, and enrollment. The Program Director works in cooperation with the owner by focusing their attention on program and staff support and development.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee classroom curriculum for all ages and ensure it aligns with Little Beginnings standards as well as state guidelines.
- Conduct bi-monthly observations of each classroom and provide follow-up guidance to teachers and notes to the business owner
- Develop behavior management plans for children who are having difficulty in the classroom. Parent engagement is a critical aspect of these plans.
- Develop positive, respectful, and professional relationships with all staff and parents
- Know every child by name and engage with them in a loving and respectful manner
- Conduct regular team meetings with classroom teachers and develop plans/strategies to address their concerns
- Develop staff training opportunities or procure outside agencies to lead necessary and meaningful staff trainings.
- Meet with the business manager and other administrative staff weekly to discuss concerns and set goals
- Lead monthly staff meetings
- Oversee staff and student assessments and conduct staff and parent meetings to discuss results
- Assist in the hiring, management, and disciplining of staff
- Plan, schedule, and lead individual teacher observations, training, coaching, and orientation
- Follow all health and safety guidelines set by the school and state regulations
- Participate in recommended training programs, conferences, and other aspects of professional development
- Maintain or oversee maintenance of accurate records per MA state licensing including children & staff files, medication & allergy information, injury logs, and emergency drills.
- Other tasks and projects assigned by the business owner as needed
