Primary Purpose:
The Director Assistant is hired to learn all the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to operate and lead a childcare center. A Director Assistant ensures that all team members are accomplishing their duties for each day and ensuring that they are receiving the necessary tools to succeed at being a teacher. The Director Assistant will report to the Director and Assistant Executive Director and will also provide a nurturing environment, and interact with the children, their parents, and your team each day.
Major functions / responsibilities
The Director Assistant is responsible for:
The Director Assistant will maintain a Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm daily schedule. The Director Assistant is responsible for closing out the center at the end of each day.
· Communication with the parents and the team members.
· Supporting the team and ensuring that they have the right tools to succeed at being an amazing teacher.
· Growing your team to be the next leadership of the company.
· Ensuring the “here now” report is completed to maintain attendance and count for the day.
· Ensuring all parent communication including party papers/signup sheets, daily/weekly reports and newsletters are being completed and sent out.
· Staying on top of reminders and notifications with the parents.
· Have access to all student, employee, and company files in the office and passwords necessary to complete the job.
· Remaining confidential with all official communication pertaining to Little Blessings, Staff Members or Children.
· Anything that needs to be completed in ProCare
· Maintaining documentation for TS Gold.
· Picking up checks, supplies, or any other items at the home office.
· Making employee schedules and ensuring that they are being followed, while maintaining ratios and enrollment.
· Completing tours for potential clients
· Enforcing company, LDOE, DOH, OSFM policy
· Any other project that the director needs help on.
Decision making authority:
The Director Assistant must adhere to the policies and procedures of Little Blessings Childcare and Preschool. They are responsible for center safety and sanitation. They must be able to maintain a friendly/professional rapport with the staff members and parents. They are responsible for supporting and implementing all decisions made by management. They must notify the owner of any limitations they may have to perform the essential functions of the job. They are encouraged to ask questions with a desire to know the answer to a policy when unsure.
Physical Demands:
Demonstrates full range of motion. Be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Maintain mental and physical alertness and appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.
Requirements (Must have one of the following)
1. A Bachelor's Degree
2. An early childhood ancillary with one year experience
3..Three years' experience with 90 clock hours or 6 college credit hours in childcare, child developmen.
Education/ Experience/ Skills / Requirements:
A desire to work with children through positive interaction and mindset is required. Prior experience in childcare setting and/or bachelor's degree and/or additional education beyond high school in the childcare field is required. As a director assistant continuing education is required. CPR and First Aid certification required. Great time management, oral and written communication required. Dependable, flexible and a team player required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
