Certified Substance Abuse Counselor

*Job Summary*

As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders. Your primary responsibility will be to provide counseling and guidance to help patients overcome addiction and lead healthier lives.

*Responsibilities*

- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address substance abuse issues

- Develop personalized treatment plans for patients based on assessments

- Monitor and document patient progress and treatment outcomes

- Provide crisis intervention when necessary to ensure patient safety

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to coordinate patient care

- Educate patients on addiction medicine, recovery strategies, and healthy coping mechanisms

- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality

- Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs

*Qualifications*

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field

- Certification or licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor (e.g., CADC, LCADC)

- Experience in clinical counseling, preferably in a hospital or patient care setting

- Proficient in medical documentation and record-keeping practices

- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and trauma-informed care

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations

- Familiarity with home and community-based care services for holistic treatment approaches
