What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director position at Little Disciples Preschool?
Position Summary: The VPK Little Disciples Preschool Director is responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the preschool in a business-like manner. The Director will work closely with the Pastor, church board and staff in matters relating to curriculum, student safety, staff development, team building and communication relating church activities.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain good communication skills with teachers, teacher aides, pastor, Bookkeeper and church board
- Maintain up-to-date software for student information, learning and attendance
- Oversee and manage all staff, acquiring all credentials as needed
- purchase of school supplies, maintaining receipts for the Bookkeeper as necessary
- Manage the recruitment and hiring of teachers and students
- Consult with the Beneva Church pastor and Personnel committee regarding staff issues
- Provide budget information yearly to the Bookkeeper as needed
- Attend Church Board meetings, Finance Team meetings, and other meetings as required
- Perform other related duties as requested by the Sr. Pastor
Qualifications:
- VPK endorsement and State of Florida childcare development credentials required.
- Supervisory and leadership experience preferred
Skills:
- Knowledge in Grant Writing preferred
- Time Management, leadership and organizational skills
- Analytical abilities to integrate and interpret data from various sources
- Develop and implement business strategies and marketing
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Effectively communicate and work with church staff, parents, volunteers and church members
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity in processing sensitive and confidential information
- Must have working knowledge of state and federal laws related to the required functions of this position
