What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Assistant Teacher position at Little Eagles Academy?
Summary
This position is for someone who is willing to calm crying babies and is able to handle stress!!
Basic care for infants must include: (1)Care by the same caregiver on a regular basis, when possible ; (2)Individual attention given to each infant including playing, talking, cuddling, and holding; (3)Holding and comforting an infant who is upset ; (4)Prompt attention given to physical needs, such as feeding and diapering (5)Talking to infants as they are fed, changed, and held, such as naming objects, singing, or saying rhymes; (6)Ensuring the environment is free of objects that may cause choking in infants or toddlers; and (7)Never leaving an infant unsupervised.
Duties
1 Teachers shows warmth and affection to the children with smiles, tone of voice, and eye contact.
2. Teachers quickly respond to infants#39; and toddlers#39; cries or other signs of
distress by providing physical comfort and needed care.
3. Teachers act to avoid problems before they occur (provide duplicate toys,
direct children to a new activity, intervene to avoid falls or other accidents).
4. Infants, toddlers, and their parents are greeted warmly each morning.
5. Teachers are sensitive and patient in supporting children#39;s separation
from parents.
6. Teachers are able to supervise children at all times by sight.
7. Teachers treat children of all races, religions, and cultures with equal
respect and consideration.
8. Teachers support infants#39; and toddlers#39; communication in their family language.
9. Teachers encourage independence and self-help as children are ready.
10. Teachers engage infants and toddlers in individualized play that includes
simple rhymes, songs, and interactive games (peek-a-boo).
Requirements
High School Diploma
CPR and First Aid for Infants and Adults
Able to pass background check
