Little Endeavors Child Development Center in Ankeny, IA is currently seeking a dedicated Childcare Cook to join our team. As a Childcare Cook, you will play a vital role in providing our children with the healthy, well-balanced meals they need to thrive.
As a Childcare Cook at Little Endeavors, you will be responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks to children aged six weeks to six years old. You will work closely with our director to create menus that meet the dietary needs of young children, ensuring that they receive the proper nutrition to support their growth and development.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is passionate about cooking and enjoys working with children. You must have a food handler's certificate (SafeServ) or willing to obtain, and be knowledgeable about food safety and sanitation practices. Previous experience working in a childcare setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of CACFP rules and willing to take trainings pertaining to the job. Experience in complying with a regular sanitization schedule for ovens, refrigerators and other appliances and areas. Knowledge of DHS procedures and processes is a bonus. Experience in inventory, purchasing, and tracking food costs is a must.
