Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible individual over 21 years old to lead our School Age Summer Camp. The Camp Leader will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing daily lessons and activities, while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all children in the program. You will also coordinate weekly field trips, engage with incoming guest speakers, and integrate STEM/STEAM projects, journaling, and other creative learning experiences into the camp curriculum. The ideal candidate must follow all HHS licensing standards and maintain a positive and motivating atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead daily lessons and activities, including STEAM projects, journaling, and group exercises.
- Coordinate and supervise weekly field trips, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all campers.
- Invite and manage incoming guest speakers to enrich the campers' learning experiences.
- Ensure all activities comply with HHS licensing standards and safety guidelines.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and energetic camp environment.
- Manage camper behavior in a fair and consistent manner.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding camp progress and activities.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Previous experience working with children in a group setting, preferably in a summer camp or educational environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and lead daily activities.
- Knowledge of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education is a plus.
- Ability to follow HHS licensing standards and ensure compliance.
- Excellent communication skills with both children and adults.
- Passion for teaching and fostering a fun, educational environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
