Our teachers and caregivers are an integral part of our team and work together as a cohesive group to maintain the mission, vision and values of Little Explorers Early Learning Academy. The teachers work in the child care facility on a regular basis, working with the rest of the team to engage and interact with the children throughout the day, provide the highest quality of care and education to each and every child that comes through our doors, promote independence and self-efficacy, maintain a safe and clean facility, prepare and serve meals and snacks, participate in diaper changing and potty-training, help maintain child records, and communicate clearly and openly with parents.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health & safety of all children at all times
- Implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum across all domains of early learning
- Plan out daily activities and submit completed lesson plans to the office
- Provide a well rounded and developmentally appropriate early childhood education to all children in the classroom
- Supervise children at all times, make sure each child is receiving adequate care, and make sure each child is making progress in learning
- Fills out daily sheets Update Brightwheel to keep parents informed of what their child is doing throughout the day
- Communicate regularly, honestly, and productively with parents
- Maintain records of children’s attendance and supervision throughout the day (*Brightwheel Name-to-Face)
- Maintain a record of student work and classroom observations in portfolio form
- Complete developmental assessments tri-annually and discuss child progress with parents
- Ensure the classroom is safe and clean
- Work as part of a cohesive team, offering guidance and training for your areas of strength and accepting guidance and training from management and peers - be willing to learn and grow
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that allows for children to be safe, happy, and healthy
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- Good character and integrity
- A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
- Sufficient knowledge, intelligence, stability, energy, and maturity to work in a childcare setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to provide the consistency that young children so very much need
- Able to adjust schedules accordingly to adapt to the changing needs of the center
- CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Speak, read, and write fluently in English
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including the ability to kneel, stoop, sit on the floor, stand for a long time, work indoors and outdoors, and demonstrate and engage in activities like jumping, dancing, walking, running, and lifting at least 40 pounds
Strongly Preferred:
- College Education
- Teacher Certification and/or CDA
- Relevant Experience
Salary : $14 - $19
