About the Program:
Do you have a passion to work with people with special needs? Do you want to gain real life career experience AND earn college credit towards graduation?
Little Friends, Inc. provides college students, with junior or senior level standing, the opportunity to enhance their classroom learning through an internship in one of our premier programs and supervised by our renowned staff.
Interns will become valued members of our team, and will take on projects to support and enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. The experience and knowledge our interns develop will provide a better appreciation for information learned in the classroom and further preparation for future careers.
Non-Profit Management Intern:
Non-Profit Management Interns will gain non-profit management experience by supporting Little Friends, Inc. personnel with program administration and operations, special projects and events, as well as general administration. This internship is ideal for students pursuing a career and degree in non-profit management.
Inklude Studio Intern:
Inklude Studio Intern will gain social service experience in Little Friends, Inc.’s very own art studio by supporting our artists, our clients. The internship will provide students pursuing a career and/or degree in social services, art therapy, psychology, etc. the opportunity to support our artists express themselves through art.
Community Living Social Service Intern:
Community Living Social Service Interns will gain social service experience in an adult residential program supporting clients with developmental disabilities. The internship will provide students pursuing a career and degree in social services, psychology, counseling, etc. the opportunity to work directly with clients and staff to implement and oversee programs clients living in the community.
Adult Day Services Intern:
Adult Day Services Intern will gain social service experience in Little Friends, Inc.’s Spectrum Vocational Services program by supporting clients with developmental disabilities. The internship will provide students pursuing a career and/or degree in social services, psychology, counseling, etc. the opportunity to implement and support vocational programs in a vocational setting, community and classroom.
Requirements
Must have Junior or Senior level status with good academic standing.
Must be able to pass required background check, drug and TB test and physical.
