We're looking for an organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic Life Skills Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate can provide direction and supervision to children in all aspects of daily living. A life skills trainer advises and assists the individuals that we care for. They are responsible for helping them learn, adapt, and develop skills such as : doing day-to-day tasks, interacting with other people, caring for themselves, as well as doing basic duties.
Life Skills Trainer's salary : $21.50 / hour .
Responsibilities :
- A life skills instructor advises and assists the individuals that we care for
- You will be responsible for helping the individuals we support to learn, adapt, and develop skills such as : doing day-to-day tasks, interacting with other people, caring for themselves, as well as doing basic duties Assisting in daily living skills, following behavior plans, usage of schedules and other visual communications
- Applicants should be able to follow detailed instructions and willing to learn best practices for success when working with children with autism
- You will provide training, assistance, and supervision to individuals receiving care in the areas of living skills, therapeutic recreation, and other forms of assistance in both residential and community settings.
- You will assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, shopping, cleaning, and medication administration.
- You will facilitate the working relationships between others and individuals served, and support community involvement by accompanying them on outings, or providing transportation to work or other activities.
- You will be working closely with other team members to support the therapeutic and behavioral plans in place for the individuals we support
- All staff will maintain compliance with the certification requirements, background checks, rules, and regulations of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and the Department of Human Services (DHS)
