Job Overview
We are seeking an afternoon assistant teacher to join our team. In this role, you will assist with covering lunch breaks for teachers and provide support to classrooms as needed. Your weekly hours will fluctuate depending on the center's requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment for children.
- Follow lesson plans and curriculum set by the regular teacher.
- Manage classroom behavior in a positive and encouraging manner.
- Help with classroom activities such as arts, crafts, lunch, nap and outdoor play.
- Foster a caring, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, preferably in a preschool setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent; CDA is a plus.
- Ability to engage with children in a fun and educational way.
- Patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour
