Preschool Teacher
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans for preschool children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes diversity and cultural understanding
- Monitor and assess each child's progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement curriculum enhancements
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and developmental milestones
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a daycare or educational setting is a plus!
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate various subjects such as math, science, language arts, physical education, etc.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Understanding of child welfare guidelines and the ability to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom
At least 18 years old with a highschool diploma or GED.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Pre-K position is a 1-year working contract requirement
- Attend and are involved in a church. We are a Christian based preschool and we value teachers that are able to help build that foundation in our students.
- If you have children, it's a 20% discount off of weekly tuition. Enrollment is dependent on space available though.
- Available for the specific hours that position is hiring for and are flexible to fill in where needed on occassion.
- You will be working with children ranging from 6 months-12 years. This would include diaper changing and the physical abilities of interacting and picking up children.
- Able to work individually with children.
- Chores (sweeping, mopping and bathrooms) on a rotation with other employees.
- An upbeat personality to keep up with the children and to work with other peers.
- Able to attend special events (Graduation and Christmas program) and monthly evening staff meetings.
