We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing and Authorizations Manager to join our team at Little Land Pediatric Therapy in Cedar Park, TX. In this role, you will lead the revenue cycle process—managing billing, claims submissions, insurance authorizations, and ensuring the practice’s financial health. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of pediatric therapy billing, understands payer requirements, and excels at optimizing reimbursement while maintaining compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Billing & Claims Management
- Oversee the entire billing cycle : claim creation, submission, follow-up, and payment posting.
- Manage denials and rejections by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure accuracy of coding (CPT, ICD-10) and proper usage of modifiers specific to pediatric therapy services.
Insurance Authorizations & Verifications
Coordinate initial and ongoing insurance authorizations for pediatric therapy patients.Verify patient eligibility, policy coverage, and visit limits to prevent claim denials or delays.Maintain up-to-date records of authorization status and communicate changes to clinical and administrative teams.Accounts Receivable & Collections
Monitor outstanding balances and maintain an effective collections process.Collaborate with patients and families to set up payment plans or resolve billing inquiries.Produce regular A / R reports and implement strategies to reduce days in accounts receivable.Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
Ensure all billing activities align with federal and state regulations, payer guidelines, and organizational policies.Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality protocols.Prepare and coordinate documentation for audits and resolve any identified discrepancies.Financial Reporting & Analysis
Generate regular financial and operational reports for leadership, including key performance metrics (e.g., denial rates, collection rates).Provide insights into reimbursement trends and recommend improvements to optimize revenue cycle performance.Team Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise billing specialists and authorization coordinators, providing training and performance feedback.Foster cross-department collaboration with clinical and administrative teams to streamline processes and improve patient satisfaction.Serve as a point of escalation for complex billing or authorization issues.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred, but not required .3–5 years of medical billing and authorization experience, strongly preferred in pediatric therapy .Proficient knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and medical billing software systems.Demonstrated success in managing insurance claims, authorizations, and reimbursement strategies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with payers, patients, and team members.CPB (Certified Professional Biller) or CPC (Certified Professional Coder) strongly preferred, but not required.Work Environment & Physical Requirements
