Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to lead our Early Head Start classroom. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive learning environment, ensuring academic excellence, and promoting the overall development of students. The Early Head Start Teacher will work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and the community to implement effective educational programs and uphold the Little Legacy Learning Center's mission and vision.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum that meets state standards and addresses the diverse needs of students.
- Manage standardized testing processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and analyzing results to inform instructional practices.
- Provide support for students to enhance learning outcomes.
- Promote physical education initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles among students.
- Lead literacy education efforts to improve reading and writing skills across all grade levels.
- Advocate for special education services, ensuring that all students with disabilities receive appropriate support and resources.
- Collaborate with teachers in math instruction to enhance student understanding and performance in mathematic concepts.
- Implement early intervention strategies to identify and support at-risk students effectively.
- Foster an understanding of childhood development principles among staff to enhance student engagement and learning.
- Develop behavior management strategies that promote a safe and respectful school environment.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma/CDA or an Associates Degree in Early Education or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in curriculum implementation, instructional leadership, and classroom management.
- Strong understanding of developmental screenings and assessment protocols and data analysis.
- Experience in physical education, literacy education, special education, math instruction, early intervention strategies, early childhood development principles, and behavior management techniques is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders including teachers, parents, students, and community members.
