What are the responsibilities and job description for the Southeast Regional Administrative Assistant – Summer 2025 position at Little League International?
Little League® International is seeking a qualified candidate to join Little League’s Regional team for the summer of 2025 at the Little League® Baseball and Softball Southeast Regional location in Warner Robins, GA. The position will run from approximately later April/early May through August 8 and the hours typically follow normal business hours, Monday – Friday and earns $15 per hour for up to 35 hours per week. Extend hours and work available between July 15 and August 7 for Little League World Series Regional Tournaments.
ABOUT LITTLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL
Located in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, we are the administrative and operational headquarters for Little League Baseball and Softball, the leading nonprofit youth sports organization with 80 years of history supporting youth baseball and softball. DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
· Answer telephone calls and email messages, provide answers to general questions and redirect calls and questions to appropriate region staff.
· Assist with local league inquiries and customer support requests.
· Welcome and assist guests to the regional facility.
· Assist in the set up and break down of the tournament but not limited to gift shop set-up, operations inventory, opening/closing ceremonies, etc.
· Receive, count, report and store tournament supplies and other shipments.
· Assist with shipping and mailings.
· Maintain proper document filing and maintaining of records, both electronically and physically.
· Assist with various communications to constituents, volunteers, community partners and more as directed.
· Assist with scheduling work with vendors, as well as submitting invoices or similar documents.
· Provide courteous service to event participants, guests, and volunteers during duration of the Southeast Regional tournament.
· Regional Tournament responsibilities to possibly include:
o Team Relations, assist with the preparing credentials, collecting, distributing and maintenance of tournament documents.
o Volunteer organization that could include scheduling and disseminating materials.
o On-site support for sponsors and special guests
o Media relations assistance
o Various tournament operations duties as needed.
· Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Excellent oral communication, inter-communication, and phone etiquette skills always using proper grammar and professional tone.
· Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload and complete multiple projects in addition to time management skills to complete assignments on time and on task.
· MS Office experience.
· Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to get along well with others and work effectively in a team environment.
· A positive attitude, team mentality and willingness to learn new things.
· Ability to work well with internal management and staff, outside clients and vendors.
· Ability to work independently.
· Must exhibit sound judgment and the ability to make reasonable decisions in the absence of direction; swiftly referring problems/issues to the appropriate person(s) when necessary; works effectively without constant and direct supervision or guidance.
· Must be able to work with discretion and confidentiality.
· Knowledge and understanding of baseball and softball a plus but not required.
· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
