JOB TITLE: Preschool Teacher

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing preschool teacher to join our team at Little Learners Institute. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, a strong understanding of child development, and a commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implimentation of daily activities under the guidance of the supervisor and director.
• Coordinating daily activities and supervising the aides
• Assisting the directors and supervisor with designated activities.
• Always ensure the safety and well-being of children while maintaining a secure and child-friendly environment.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of children’s development and progress.
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents/guardians. Provide updates on daily activities, events, growth, and development.
• Adhere to health and hygiene standards outlined in the PA state regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the classroom and common/shared areas.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required by state regulations and company requirements.

Qualifications:

• Required education: One of the following qualifications:
• A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
• A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, including 600 or more hours of secondary training described
• A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.
• A high school diploma or a general education development certificate and completion of a post-secondary training curriculum.
• A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 2 years experience with children.
• Ability to obtain all necessary clearances and training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing.
• Must be able to lift, carry, bend, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this job can be fully met.
• Must possess the physical abilities or prosthetics that will enable the physical ability to function adequately so that the demands of this job can be fully met.
• Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with possible mental, emotional, and physical stresses of this position.

Childcare Director and Supervisor

Compensation:

Starting Rate: $12.00/hr to $15.00/hr

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
