Lead Teacher- Job Description

Requirements:

· Must be 21 years of age and older

· AA/AS Degree or higher in education preferred, with a focus on early childhood development

· Minimum 3 years of experience in childcare

· Ability to communicate with young children at their level

· Compassionate, friendly, and energetic disposition

· Good nurturing abilities

· Passion for shaping and inspiring young minds

· Familiarity with Microsoft word and Excel

· Ability to serve as a positive role model

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· CPR/ First Aid Certified

Responsibilities:

· Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them.

· Plan and prepare lesson plans (Weekly/Monthly) that encourage the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of each child

· Implement School curriculum and employ a variety of educational techniques

· Asses developmental needs of children

· Facilitate and nurture the development of each child’s self-esteem and trust

· Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children

· Provide classroom experiences that are developmentally and culturally appropriate.

· Actively participate in all staff meetings and trainings

· Maintain an updated list of children’s allergies in the classroom

· Maintain safety and security of all children above all duties

· Establish a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment

· Ensure safety in classroom and outdoor play through consistent monitoring

· Clean and sanitize equipment and toys daily

· Integrate special needs children respectfully

· Facilitate problem-solving

· Invest in children’s well-being, health, and safety

· Track and report children’s progress

· Establish rules to maintain order

· Communicate with parents regularly regarding child development and progress

· Serve meals in a friendly and nurturing manner

· Establish positive relationship with colleagues and families

· Participate in parent/teacher conferences

· Assume an equal share of housekeeping responsibilities of the classroom and the facility

· Participate in ongoing professional development trainings (minimum 25 hours/year required)

· Become familiar with emergency procedures and protocols

· Promote literacy and early education

· Adheres to Little Martians’ procedures and policies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
