Job Title: Little Medical School Instructor
Position Type: Per Diem/Part-Time - Looking to specifically staff after-school enrichment programs scheduled to begin in January and March 2025. JANUARY PROGRAMMING WILL BE LOCATED IN HOLLY SPRINGS. MARCH PROGRAMMING WILL BE LOCATED IN DURHAM. This role is for those who love teaching children and are available during after-school hours (between 2:45 to 5:00pm). This role is an excellent fit for people who are simply seeking SUPPLEMENTAL HOURS to an already full-time work or full-time student schedule or a retiree or stay-at-home parent simply looking to gain enrichment in their day.

Job Purpose
Instructors will bring our Little Medical School curriculum of medicine, science, and the importance of health to children aged 4-14 in an entertaining, exciting and fun way. Instructors will provide a safe environment that is conducive to learning for a group of children. Our current schedule includes after school clubs, evening courses, Saturday morning courses, week long half and full-day camps, in-school enrichment and birthday parties. You only teach the programs that fit your schedule. We currently have instructor availability for all offerings, however, have a great interest in being able to expand our after school clubs.
Duties
- Responsible for signing up for open classes and must be committed to teaching that class for its duration.
- Flexibility for teaching 6, 8, 12 or 18 week programs, that meet one or multiple day(s) a week for 1-6 hours. As well as teaching birthday parties, special events and summer/track-out camps. You only teach programs that fit your schedule.
- Arrives 15 minutes before the class begins to check in with the school or venue and get classroom ready.
- Instructor is responsible for learning the proprietary curriculum and activities by attending training.
- Works with Coordinator to facilitate the pick-up and delivery of materials used in Little Medical
School courses.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy educational environment by establishing, following, and enforcing established written standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Driving to and from different schools and venues throughout the triangle area.
Requirements:
- Must have a High School Diploma or Must possess an outgoing personality equivalent Must have great verbal communication skills
- Must be reliable and possess reliable Must have ability to resolve conflict quickly transportation Must possess presentation skills
- Must have experience working with children Must be self-motivated
- Must pass a background check Must have good listening skills
- Must maintain confidentiality of proprietary curriculum
