What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Van Driver position at Little Minds Universe?
We are seeking a responsible and safety-conscious Daycare Van Driver to transport children safely to and from the daycare facility, school, and field trips as needed. The ideal candidate will be punctual, reliable, and enjoy working with children while maintaining a clean and well-maintained vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:Transportation & Safety
- Safely transport children to and from the daycare center, school, and other designated locations.
- Ensure all children are properly secured in seat belts or child restraints before operating the vehicle.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and daycare policies to ensure the well-being of passengers.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or incidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist children in safely getting on and off the van and ensure they are received by authorized individuals.
- Maintain a log of transportation times, attendance, and any incidents during transit.
Child Supervision & Behavior Management
- Maintain order and ensure children follow safety rules while in the vehicle.
- Communicate with daycare staff and parents regarding transportation schedules and any concerns.
- Implement positive behavior management techniques as necessary while children are in transit.
- Ensure children are never left unattended in the vehicle.
Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance
- Keep the van clean, sanitized, and free from hazards daily.
- Ensure all required vehicle documents (registration, insurance, and inspection records) are up to date.
- Follow proper fueling and maintenance schedules for the vehicle.
Job Types: Contract, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
