What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floral Designer position at Little Peony Florist?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced floral designer with at least 5 years of experience. Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement.
This position is not suitable for those who are still learning the craft, have only worked as assistants, or have limited experience in floristry. We respect all roles within the industry, but this job is intended for an expert floral designer.
Requirements:
- A resume with a solid professional referral.
- A portfolio showcasing your personally designed work.
- Share your professional social media, if you have any.
Ideal Candidate: Must be an experienced floral designer.
- Availability from 9 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Friday (with the potential for more hours as needed). Occasional Saturday availability for deliveries or small setups is also required, but most weekends will be off.
- Comfortable using a computer and point-of-sale systems (training will be provided).
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Extensive knowledge of retail floristry, including flowers, design, pricing, ordering, and managing orders from start to finish.
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks, from maintaining the shop to managing customer orders.
- Availability to work long hours during peak holiday seasons, such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Christmas.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow professionally.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
