What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Little People's Education Center?
This position consists of creating a safe, fun, educational and loving environment. You are directly responsible to include developing and delivering interactive learning programs designed to engage and educate young children. - Create a safe and fun learning environment. Keeping classroom clean and tidy, developmentally challenging and adhere to health and safety procedures by promoting a positive and healthy learning environment
- Plan and develop educational projects upholding routine and center schedule
- Assist all children in developing social and practical life skills.
- Guide and assist in achieving developmental milestones preparing them for the next stage of their education and growth
- Track children's progress. Observe and monitor talents, special abilities, and disabilities to help them improve their social, emotional, physical, behavioral and educational competencies.
- Develop partnerships with families through direct communication with parents to understand their children's background and psyche and report progress day to day.
- Have or gain knowledge of the milestones associated with the developmental stages of children ages 3-6, appropriate ways of interacting with, caring for, and fostering their development, and the ability to recognize signs of delayed development.
- Establish and enforce guidelines of acceptable behavior honoring respect, responsibility, compassion and acceptable boundaries.
- Prioritize adequate (age appropriate) hygiene and cleanliness
- Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and co-teachers.
- Uphold and develop classroom activities including lessons, recess, breaks and meals
- Track children's’ progress, conduct evaluations throughout the year
- Maintain a clean, fun and tidy classroom
- Help children reach developmental milestones
- Collaborate with others to implement lesson plans
- Provide appropriate supervision for children at all times
- Maintain inventory system for classroom materials and supplies and protocols
- Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures. Uphold state mandates and company processes
- Facilitate various activities for children including songs, games and storytelling with lots of fun and giggles
- Connect with each student on a genuine level infusing compassion and love for the program, families and company.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
