Preschool Co-Teacher

Little Professors Preschool is looking for a qualified teacher to work at our center location with the following schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pm M-F.

The ideal staff member has one year (or 750 hours) of experience teaching in a structured academic environment (preschool or kindergarten), has knowledge in early literacy skills, is ambitious, maintains a clean orderly classroom, has experience working with children with behavioral needs and special educational needs, and has experience collaborating with other staff members and parents.

Little Professors Preschool goes above and beyond the typical daycare environment. We provide quality, nurturing, curriculum and a structured, academic environment to meet the needs of each child individually to ensure academic success their kindergarten year. We offer a music, movement, and art focused Friday where we get to participate in messy art projects and sing our favorite childhood songs.

Responsibilities-

• Creating a warm, positive environment that emphasizes social skills and development.
• Interacting with parents with consistency and care
• Communicating with the Provider and Owner as needed
• Attending staff meetings.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitized classroom
• Completing daily reports with accurate information.
• Writing accident or illness reports for every accident/injury or illness.
• Maintaining daily attendance records.
• Recording the administration of all medications.
• Creating weekly classroom lesson plans (curriculum provided)
• Collaborating with other Teachers in the building and providing support to other teachers as needed
• Meeting the needs of children individually; socially and academically, including students with special educational needs, or high behavioral needs
• Any other duties as required.
• Must be willing to work 40 hours per week.

Requirements for the position:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Employees must pass a background check through the Oregon Background Registry. Employees are required to keep their background information cleared and up to date with the Oregon Background Registry while employed at Little Professors Preschool LLC.

All employees are required to obtain, and renew as needed, an up to date CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment. The CPR and First Aid Class must be accepted by CCR&R. Employees are responsible to stay current on, and remember steps to follow, during any situations that require CPR or First Aid services.

Complete an approved Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect training

Complete Intro to Health and Safety Course through CCR&R

Complete Infant Safe Sleep Training through CCR&R

Obtain, and renew as needed, a Food Handlers Card accepted in Multnomah County

Complete Bloodborne Pathogen Class (online or in person)

Complete Prevention is Better Than Treatment training through CCR&R

Employees are required to provide proof on completion of these tasks prior to their start of employment. (CPR and First-Aid within 30 days of employment)

All employees are to obtain 15 hours of approved training, on their time, per year, to continue employment at Little Professors Preschool.
