Plant Operator
Job Overview
Plant Operator is responsible for maintaining the rock screening plant and heavy equipment to ensure the maximum amount of production.
Responsibilities
- Follow company Safety Policies
- Monitor the operation of the rock screening plant and heavy equipment
- Monitor operating temperatures of drive mechanisms and components such as bearings, motors, gear boxes, pumps, etc.
- Monitor belt tension on both V-belts and conveyor belts, and assist Maintenance with adjustments
- Monitor screen tension and replace screens as needed, and assist Maintenance with adjustments
- Assist Maintenance with repairing/replacing rubber skirting
- Monitor pulleys, rollers, idlers, bearings, and shafts & report isssus to maintenance
- Produce daily equipment inspections and document findings
- Ensure greasing is performed properly on all plant equipment
- Work with management on planning and scheduling maintenance
- Follow start up and shut down procedures for the plant
- Ensure plant is functioning properly and at desired production rate
- Ensure plant is producing products satisfactory to Quality Control department
- Any other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 18 years old or older
- Ability to operate Heavy Equipment
- Experience with resolving electrical issues preferred
- Plant maintenance experience required
- Heavy Equipment maintenance experience required
- Welding/Fabrication
- Can manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
- Willing to work flexible hours and conditions
Physical Qualifications
- Strength and Endurance: Ability to exert force when pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying objects, often weighing 50 pounds. Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally.
- Mobility: Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and climbing.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Precise control of levers, pedals, and other controls on the machinery.
- Vision: Good depth perception and clear vision to accurately gauge distances and identify potential hazards.
- Hearing: Ability to hear instructions and machine sounds.
