Description
Rail Terminal Generalist / Operator
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The RTGO Operator performs the day-to-day activities, assesses, and acquires the resources needed to complete daily operations of the Rail Terminal. The RTGO performs tasks such as scaling trucks, loading and unloading of products and using the CSX portal to perform functions of the terminal. The RTGO will also play a key role in maintaining the quality of products during loading and unloading.
The RTGO Reports to the Terminal Manager and has zero direct reports.
DUTIES TO PERFORM:
Safety:
- Maintain a clean, safe, drug-free worksite.
- Maintain 'No Lost Time Accidents' and practice Safety Policies
- Report all accidents and/or incidents to management immediately.
- Always wear proper PPE hard hat safety vest and steel toe boots.
Quality Control:
- Visually monitor products throughout all aspects of the shipping and receiving process.
- Ensure equipment that is in use for the process is clean and does not cause any contamination to the products.
- Ensure cars are clean by visually inspecting before loading.
Terminal/Production:
- Utilize Fastweigh to ticket inbound and outbound shipments.
- Utilize CSX portal to release cars and perform any other rail functions.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the rail spur to stay in compliance with CSX.
- Perform all loading and unloading task at the terminal using front end loader equipped with scales.
- Maintain constant communication with Terminal Manager about material needs.

- Experience operating a front end loader.
- Basic computer skills.

- Hand-Eye Coordination: Precise control of levers, pedals, and other controls on the machinery.
- Vision: Good depth perception and clear vision to accurately gauge distances and identify potential hazards.
- Hearing: Ability to hear instructions and machine sounds.
- Balance and Stability: Maintaining proper posture while operating machinery in varying terrains. Able to climb in and out of equipment safely.
