RN Mobile Team Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
A professional Registered Nurse provides supervision and management of the Mobile Medical Team and of the Mobile Medical Units and scheduled clinics. This position includes clinical and administrative functions as well as short-term and long-term planning functions of running a successful Mobile Medical service. The Mobile Medical Team Nurse Supervisor holds a dynamic working relationship with organizational resources, as well as community resources, to ensure the level of care and services offered meet the needs of its patient population. The Mobile Medical Team Nursing Supervisor must be able to exercise independent judgment in monitoring the day-to-day operation of the Mobile Team, of Mobile Clinics, and Mobile Units with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and implement work plans to support the goals and objectives of the Mobile Medical Team and its Mobile Medical Clinics.
- Ensure that Mobile Clinics are staffed appropriately with clinical and administrative staff.
- Manage the activities of the day for staff, patients, and providers to assure a smooth, efficient patient flow.
- Analyzes patient flow problems and assists in instituting corrective actions.
- Monitor clinical staff performance in compliance within established time frames.
- Monitor the non-clinical staff performance in compliance within established time frames.
- Regularly interacts with providers, staff, and administration to facilitate communication and improvement activities related to the Mobile Medical Team’s clinics, telehealth, and home visits.
- Functions as an EHR super user to ensure that appropriate training, error monitoring and corrections are completed in a timely manner.
- Monitor and assist in completion of electronic medical records including but not limited to encounters, refill requests, pending lists, delinquent orders, referrals, prior authorizations, medical messages, and other electronic notifications.
- May be required to fill in as a floor nurse for the team as needed.
- Respond to email and phone messages as appropriate and in a timely manner.
- Assists as directed with the development and implementation of Mobile Medical policies and procedures, as well as policies and procedures specific to Little River Medical Center.
- Participates as needed as a member of various committees or programs related to the overall improvement of the patient population and corporation.
- Works to assure that all medical equipment and supplies that providers may require are readily available such as but not limited to medication and labs for routine and/or emergent situations.
- Oversees, orders, and controls stock drugs, vaccines, and clinical inventory specific to the Mobile Medical Clinics.
- Ensures proper operation of medical equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Observes and enforces infection control and standard precautions.
- Ensure that biohazard materials are stored, labeled, and packaged appropriately.
- Monitors all clinical logs for accuracy and completion (refrigerator temp logs, equipment control logs etc.).
- Manage and direct the daily operations of all Mobile Medical Clinics, including patient treatment.
- Review and complete all documentation and process in a timely manner that includes maintaining accurate records for daily clinic operations, appropriate and accurate treatment coding, patient demographic data.
- Resolve patient needs and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Recommend patients for further medical follow-up at specialty clinics, labs, or hospitals as needed per provider orders.
- Triage patients that do not have appointments to assess the urgency of their illness or condition. This may require independent decision making as to when and where the patient can be seen.
- Create an environment where patients feel respected and are cared for with dignity.
- Responsible for reviewing staff timecards and time-off requests as per corporate policies and procedures.
- Initiate all incident reports for all Mobile Medical Units the Mobile Medical Team staff in compliance with the Center’s policy.
- Know/learn the aspects and expectations of all positions that you supervise so that you can assume their duties as needed.
- Participate in Quality Improvement Projects.
- Coordinate meetings, huddles, and educational opportunities for the Mobile Medical Team.
- Coordinate meetings as needed for the center to aid in growth and expansion of the Mobile Medical Team program.
- Participate in the Center’s regular meetings.
- Maintain professional knowledge by attending educational opportunities and in-services.
- Maintain quality assurance standards and comply with applicable infection control, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform simple repairs within means to/on the Mobile Medical Units and on-board equipment and supplies as able. All additional repairs beyond scope shall be reported to our facilities team.
- Perform daily pre and post drive checks and ensure maintenance schedules working with the Center’s facility team.
- Ensures that all members of the Mobile Medical Team are trained to drive the Mobile Medical Units.
- Maintain strong working relationships with partner agency staff and Little River Medical Center staff.
- Coordinate services with local health agencies.
- Develop, coordinate, schedule, and confirm requests for mobile medical appointments and requests for Mobile Medical Clinics in the community.
- Be available for occasional meetings and functions outside of normal working hours.
- In collaboration with your department and the Center’s management team, work towards the implementation of the Mobile Medical Team’s strategic plan.
- Maintain and ensure on-board inventory of clinical and non-patient supplies, instruments, infection control, housekeeping, and non-clinical supplies are readily available.
- Must be able to delegate tasks/duties within the scope of practice of the mobile medical team staff.
- Coordinate and/or train staff as needed or upon hire.
- Other duties can be assigned if not outlined above.

- Possess strong management and leadership ability in addition to knowledge of the practice of professional nursing.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- A Registered Nurse with a Bachelors or Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of 2 years of administrative/management/supervisory experience.
- Community Health experience a plus.
