Veterinary Assistant – Full Time Position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians and technicians in the care and treatment of animals, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and provide excellent customer service to pet owners. This position requires a passion for animal care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with the care and treatment of animals, including preparing animals for examinations and procedures.
- Restrain animals during blood draws, nail trims, etc.
- Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning examination rooms.
- Set up for and assist with anesthetic procedures.
- Assist with laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Maintain inventory and stocking.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a veterinary assistant program is desirable.
- Previous experience working with animals in a clinical setting.
- Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including rotating weekends.
