We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with a Limited X-ray License to join our Lab/X-ray Department.
Position Summary:
As an RMA in the Lab/X-ray Department, you will play a key role in providing diagnostic support through performing lab tests and limited X-ray procedures for our pediatric patients. This position requires someone with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will be integral in ensuring that diagnostic imaging and lab tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- X-ray Duties:
- Perform limited X-rays as ordered by the physician, ensuring proper technique, radiation safety, and patient comfort.
- Ensure that X-ray equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and sanitized.
- Assist with proper positioning of pediatric patients for X-ray imaging and guide them through procedures.
- Laboratory Duties:
- Perform routine lab tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and other point-of-care tests as directed by the physician.
- Prepare lab samples for transport or further testing, as necessary.
- Ensure that lab results are accurately recorded and communicated to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records according to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with patient flow within the department and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for use.
- Handle test result tracking.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, especially in regard to radiation safety and infection control.
- Follow the clinic’s policies and procedures for patient care, documentation, and lab/X-ray protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through an accredited organization
- Limited X-ray License required (in the state of Arkansas).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a lab/X-ray department.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with children and their families.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
