Little Rock Family Dental Care is seeking a skilled, energetic, and hardworking Oral Surgery Assistant with IV sedation experience to join our team. We offer competitive pay, health benefits, PTO, and a 401k plan.
Hours: Part-Time or Full-Time
Part Time Hours:
- Tuesday's 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Thursday's- 8:00am- 5:00pm
Full Time Hours
- Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-5:00pm
- Friday's: 8:00am- 3:00pm
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for oral surgery procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding of the process.
- Assist in administering and monitoring IV sedation under the supervision of the dentist or oral surgeon.
- Set up and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and materials needed for procedures.
- Provide chairside assistance during oral surgery and other dental procedures.
- Take and display dental x-rays as needed.
- Deliver post-operative care instructions and assist patients during their recovery period.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including procedure notes and sedation details.
- Keep the surgical and dental rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Schedule patient appointments and follow up on post-surgery check-ins.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as payment procedures and patient documentation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an oral surgery assistant or dental assistant with oral surgery specialization.
- Hands-on experience with IV sedation procedures is required.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, dental instruments, and sterilization methods.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a surgical setting.
- Proficiency in taking and interpreting dental x-rays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure patient comfort and clarity.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and reliability.
- Basic computer skills.
- High school diploma; graduating from a dental or surgical assistant program is required.
