JOB GOAL
Under supervision, performs a variety of complex and responsible secretarial duties in support of the day-to-day operations at Dr. Marian G. Lacey K-8 Academy. The incumbent will support related services (oral, written, and reading) in both English and Spanish and will aid in ensuring all families and staff have adequate access to school services.

Learners will engage in high levels of hands-on experiences, real world investigations, and applied literacy and mathematics learning. Students at Lacey will have opportunities to engage in structured science, technology, reading/writing, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STREAM) experiences from kindergarten through eighth grade, building a strong cohort of leaders who possess 21st Century skills for collaborative problem-solving, technological literacy, and career-readiness.
Terms Of Employment
Ten (10) Month (203 days) contract, Pay 804 Grade 106, plus benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon experience. FLSA: Non-Exempt.

Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Bilingual certification in Oral, Reading and writing Proficiency in Spanish preferred, or any equivalent combination of training or experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
- Requires two years of broad and varied experience in typing and clerical work, along with the ability to handle busy phones and work with more than one task simultaneously.
- This position requires knowledge of proper office methods, techniques and procedures, word processing techniques, proper telephone techniques, command of the English language along with attention to detail, as well as, support services orally and translate written material in Spanish as required. Must have skills to learn the operations, procedures, policies and requirements of assigned operational units and apply them with good judgment; interpret, and successfully apply District rules and policies while independently carrying out a variety of technical procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in use of standard office equipment, copier, facsimile machines, calculators, scanners, etc.
- Evidence of strong interpersonal and organizational skills in working with employees and the public.

- Under the direction of the building principal, provides hands-on and clerical support for efficient student, family, and staff assistance.
- Troubleshoots service requests to aid in the efficient operations of the Main Office.
- Informs parents, students, and community stakeholders regarding necessary processes and requirements.
- Provides general assistance regarding student and family files and folders. Researches and performs general secretarial and clerical duties.
- Assists with the district, state, and federal reports regarding student services as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Adheres to confidentiality regarding student services and open to a flexible approach to work and the ability to copy with a changing, demanding workload.
- Conducts effective communication with students, parents/guardians, staff and the public in person, by phone, and electronic mail.
- Prepares reports relative to job duties as required.
- Responds to a wide variety of program-specific and district-general inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.
- Assists students, staff, and families in the office.
