GENERAL DESCRIPTIONOF POSITION
Responsible for assisting with and performing field and office activities to support engineering projects and investigations along with the collection of data for the development and maintenance of the LRWRA facilities inventory data base.
ESSENTIALDUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES- Collects field survey and facilities attribute information.
- Collects field data utilizing GPS equipment for the development of As-Built drawings.
- Performs field research and locates existing underground facilities.
- Performs note keeping and mathematical calculations.
- Performs flow monitoring activities as directed including: installation, interrogations, and maintenance of equipment; downloading of data.
- Conducts smoke testing operations, records and tabulates smoke testing results as directed.
- Maintains all equipment and supplies.
- Performs dye water testing of collection system connections and faults, as directed.
- Performs investigations of sanitary sewer system overflows and customer complaints.
- Assists Survey Crew in the absence of Data Collection Crew Leader.
- Operates the utility's Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS).
- Follows established work procedures and practices.
- Follows safety practices and guidelines at all times.
- Undertakes any reasonable request within capabilities that is for the good of the community and the Utility.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Education
- High School graduate or equivalent.
Required:
- Ability to run a level loop utilizing a modern transit and reduce field notes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and communicate effectively with Engineering Staff.
- Experience with computer software (Microsoft Office, current edition) and data entry.
- Ability to perform confined space entry.
- Ability to remove and replace manhole lids, climb in and out of manholes, and work with hand tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in weather and terrain extremes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Class I Wastewater Operator's license within two years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain valid Arkansas driver's license.
Preferred:
- One year of basic field survey experience (i.e., Running the instrument or being rodman).
- Ability to operate mapping grade GPS equipment.
This position has been evaluated as to whether a momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to the employee, coworkers, or the public. If the designation is yes, the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act (AMMA) of 2016 will govern working conditions. If no, the AMMA will not apply to the position.
This position has been evaluated as to the mandated wearing of a company uniform during working hours.
