Location: Little Ruby's Café, Brooklyn, NYC (New Location)
Compensation: $16/hour (before tip credit)

Join the team at Little Ruby's Café as we open our newest location in Brooklyn! We’re seeking hardworking, organized, and team-oriented barbacks to support bartenders and ensure smooth bar operations in a vibrant, high-energy environment.

Job Summary

As a barback, you’ll be responsible for stocking and restocking bar supplies, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and assisting bartenders in providing exceptional guest service. Your role is essential to the success of the bar, ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently while upholding the highest hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Bar Support

• Stock and replenish all bar inventories and supplies.
• Assist bartenders in ensuring high-quality and timely service.
• Help deliver food and beverages to guests when necessary.
• Keep the bar and surrounding areas clean and free of debris.
• Follow proper beverage requisition procedures.

Setup and Closing Duties

• Set up bar stations with the required equipment and supplies.
• Perform opening and closing side-work as directed by management.
• Wipe down bar tops, stools, tables, and lounge areas to maintain cleanliness and presentation.
• Dispose of trash properly, ensuring cardboard boxes are broken down.

Organization and Maintenance

• Keep liquor displays, shelves, storage areas, and refrigeration units clean and organized.
• Report any damage to equipment, furniture, or bar supplies to management immediately.

Team Collaboration

• Work as part of a team, providing support to bartenders, servers, and other team members.
• Communicate guest needs to front-of-house and back-of-house staff, chefs, and managers.
• Attend daily pre-service meetings and any training sessions or departmental meetings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a barback in a high-volume restaurant, nightclub, or lounge is preferred.
• Completion of company-provided barback training and Food Handling Certification.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with exposure to cleaning materials and kitchen elements.
• Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for hospitality.
