Job Summary

As a Runner at Little Ruby's Café, you’ll deliver food items promptly and accurately to guests while providing detailed descriptions of the dishes. Acting as a vital connection between the kitchen and the dining area, you’ll work closely with servers, bartenders, and chefs to ensure every guest experience is outstanding.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Anticipate and accommodate all guest needs to provide exceptional service.
• Deliver food items to tables with accuracy and in a timely manner, describing each dish to guests.
• Assist in table maintenance, including clearing excess tableware and ensuring a clean, organized space.

Team Collaboration

• Communicate guest needs and feedback to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House teams, managers, and chefs.
• Work closely with servers, bartenders, and chefs to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Station Maintenance

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of stations and the overall venue.
• Stock the runner’s station with necessary supplies and ensure readiness for service.
• Perform opening and closing side-work tasks as directed by management.

Professional Standards

• Adhere to Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
• Participate in daily pre-service meetings, training sessions, and team discussions.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the menu and company policies.
• Represent the café with a professional attitude and appearance.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a runner in a high-volume restaurant, nightclub, or lounge.
• Completion of company-provided runner training and Food Handling Certification.
• Strong knowledge of food menus and passion for the hospitality industry.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods and manage up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
