What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Worker position at Little Sabers Childcare Center?
Little Lions Childcare in Lovilia, IA is looking for a childcare worker to join our team. We are looking for an opener that would be around all ages of children, they would then be in charge of one of the classrooms till the next teacher arrives. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and engaged. We are looking for a teacher able to greet families in the morning, relay important messages about children/families, put dishes away, get classrooms ready for students, and keep children safe and engaged.
We are also looking for a closer. This person will also be involved with all ages as the rooms combine closer to closing time. This person will need to relay important messages from day time teachers to parents. Help parents get their children ready to go, be kind and considerate, giving each child/family a farewell. Must keep children safe. The closer will be sure all trash has been combined/taken out, dishes have been complete, and that classrooms have been closed down correctly. The closer will likely sweep and mop, help disinfect classrooms and toys, and make sure the center is tidy before leaving.
The opener shift begins at 6:15am and will work 2-6 hrs. a day depending on need/availability.
The closer shift begins at 3pm helping teachers who need to clean/disinfect or tidy up. The closer will cover classrooms so teachers can finish their responsibilities. They will prep/serve/clean up snack or switch a teacher so the teacher may do snack. The closer leaves no later than 5:45pm if cleaning takes longer than the end of the day.
Must pass a background check.
Job responsibilities:
- Supervising and monitoring the safety of children
- Preparing or serving meals/snack
- Helping children keep good hygiene and changing the diapers of infants and toddlers, potty training assist children
- Organizing activities or implementing a curriculum that allows children to learn and explore
- Folllow a schedule or routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Communicating with parents and teachers about the children's progress and needs
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment
- multitasking to ensure each child has attention and their needs met
- Play, sing, read, and laugh with the children!!!
