What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Little Saints Child Development Center?
Job Overview
We are looking for Super Teachers to join our dedicated and caring team in a fun and healthy environment! We are looking for team members with the following superpowers or those willing to find theirs. If you have a background in early childhood education and are looking for a rewarding opportunity, we encourage you to apply for this role.
Duties
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans and activities that meet the needs of our students.
- Support the lead teacher in managing the classroom and ensuring a safe and organized learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
--You MUST love to give hugs, survey the entire class, hold a crying toddler, have a pretend conversation “on the phone” into a block, and most of all eat pretend food like a champ!
--You must not take yourself too seriously. Being able to sing “Baby Shark”, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and any other songs requested by your kiddos is a must. Your tune is not important but your performance is a superpower!
-- You must be able to read a story while one child crawls in your lap, another tries to grab the book, and another one is telling you a completely different story. The ability to read in different accents and dialects is a huge bonus!
-- Being able to handle a meltdown and interpret crying, pointing, and lots of emotions as children develop language and learn to regulate emotions is a requirement.
-- A stomach of steel is great! There will be sneezes, diaper changes, and the occasional spew. You will also develop a high level of comfort discussing bodily functions (don’t worry this is normal).
--You must be prepared to laugh, love, and learn more about children than you ever thought possible.
This is by far one of the most joyous jobs you will ever have, but you must be prepared to accept the challenges and benefits this job has to offer.
If you are ready to join a winning team where we laugh, have fun, and kick drama out the door, come see us! Just in case you need more info…yes, you must pass all background checks, have a high school diploma or GED, and be available to work Monday through Friday (no nights or weekends!!!). Experience is awesome, but we understand not everyone has found their superpower yet, so those with potential are welcome to apply.
