We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable individual to assist us in our start-up phase, with the potential for a long-term leadership role.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a temporary Daycare Start-Up & Compliance Specialist to ensure our facility meets all Arizona Department of Health Services (DHS) licensing standards, as well as all applicable city codes and regulations. This individual will play a crucial role in preparing our facility for a successful opening. For the right candidate, this temporary position could transition into a permanent Childcare Director role.
Responsibilities:
- DHS Compliance:
- Thoroughly review and interpret Arizona DHS childcare licensing regulations.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of all necessary licensing documentation.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with DHS standards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet DHS requirements.
- City Codes and Regulations:
- Research and understand all relevant city codes and regulations related to childcare facilities.
- Ensure the facility meets all safety, zoning, and building code requirements.
- Assist in obtaining any necessary city permits and approvals.
- Facility Preparation:
- Assist in the organization and setup of the daycare facility to meet regulatory standards.
- Ensure all equipment and materials are safe and compliant.
- Help create and organize required documentation.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all compliance-related activities.
- Assist in the development of required forms and checklists.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
- Potential Director Responsibilities (if applicable):
- Assist in the development of curriculum and educational programs.
- Aid in staff recruitment, training, and supervision.
- Help with parent communication and relationship building.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with Arizona DHS childcare licensing regulations.
- Knowledge of Prescott Valley city codes and regulations related to childcare facilities (or ability to quickly learn).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a daycare environment is preferred.
- Experience in a leadership role within a childcare setting is a strong plus.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate (please provide your desired hourly rate).
- If the position transitions into a childcare director role, a competitive salary will be offered.
