What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Director- Infant Care Center position at Little Scholars Village?
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Center Director to lead our small, nurturing infant care center. The Center Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility, ensuring a safe and developmentally appropriate environment for babies ages 6 weeks to 18 months. This individual will collaborate with staff, families, and community resources to provide the highest standard of care and support for our infants and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Staff Management:
- Supervise and support a team of caregivers, ensuring they adhere to all licensing requirements and best practices for infant care.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions.
- Hire, onboard, and evaluate staff performance.
- Provide guidance and support to team members in managing challenging behaviors or developmental concerns.
- Program Development & Implementation:
- Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants that supports their cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
- Plan and oversee activities that foster nurturing relationships between staff and infants.
- Create a safe and engaging environment that is conducive to learning and growth.
- Family Engagement & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families, maintaining regular communication regarding their child’s progress, behavior, and development.
- Organize and lead parent meetings, conferences, and educational workshops.
- Foster strong, positive relationships with families to ensure they feel supported and informed.
- Operations & Administration:
- Manage daily operations of the center, including overseeing enrollment, attendance, and maintaining accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and licensing requirements.
- Handle budgets and finances, ensuring that the center operates within its financial parameters.
- Order supplies and equipment as needed, maintaining inventory and ensuring the safety of all materials.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure that all health, safety, and hygiene protocols are followed consistently, including sanitation, diapering, and food handling procedures.
- Conduct regular safety checks of the facility, maintaining a safe environment for infants and staff.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and manage any incidents involving infants or staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in infant/toddler care or early childhood education, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of state licensing requirements and early childhood education best practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships with families and staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
