The Little Sebago Lake Association (LSLA) Board of Directors is seeking a part-time assistant for a year-round, remote/work @ home position. Although the work is remote, we do require someone local to Little Sebago who can pick up mail at the post office, visit our local bank as needed, and make deliveries around Windham and Gray. LSLA is a non-profit organization of 1,000 members, committed to protect, restore, and improve our lake’s water quality and fragile ecosystem. We endeavor to create and nurture a community of lake stewards, educate users on lake safety, and always be mindful that human needs must be balanced with the needs of the natural environment.

The Board Assistant will work primarily with the Executive Committee of the Board with some support for the various committees. The position is an Independent Contractor (IC) with compensation based on experience. The IC will provide their own computer & printer; expenses for supplies will be reimbursed by the Association. Hours will vary by season – ranging from 5-10 hours/month off-season with up to 40 hours during active fund-raising campaign & summer activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain & improve membership database
- Communicate with members by email, text, and phone to answer questions & update data
- Collect and process mail from Windham, ME Post Office at least weekly
- Prepare & make bank deposits, acknowledge donations with thank you letters
- Maintain employee files & coordinate with payroll vendor
- Meeting scheduling, agenda, materials preparation & follow-up
- Support for Annual Giving campaign and other fundraisers
- Basic bookkeeping to collect & record donations
- Grant maintenance, track grant activity, and draft reports
- Prepare monthly report to the Board summarizing activity, issues, and concerns.
Qualifications:
- Highly organized & able to work independently.
- Excellent “people skills” to work with the Board & lake community.
- Strong written & oral communication.
- Proficient computer skills, including:
- DonorSnap or other donor software.
- Google Suite – Drive, Docs, Mail, Sheets, Slides.
- Basic bookkeeping; QuickBooks, Constant Contact – a plus.
- Marketing & development experience a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
