Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated After School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves creating games and activities, facilitating tutoring and homework time, and supporting the developmental needs of each child in the classroom.
Criteria:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Have a fun, flexible, kind & caring heart towards children and others.
- Desire to pour into the young lives of our future generation, through developmentally appropriate practices.
- Background in working with children.
- Able to pass background & fingerprint screening, as well as, a drug test.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to follow daily routines and lesson plans.
- Valid Driver's License and ID
- Ability to drive large Van with childre.
- Complete the mandatory DCF requirements and hours.
- CPR & First Aid Certification.
Responsibilities
- Pick-Up children from school and bring them to the facility.
- Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Guide and lead other infant teacher's and volunteers in their interactions with the children.
- Monitor and guide children in their homework.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their individuality and self-expression.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's classroom activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the classroom and on playground.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices, particularly in the area of elementary students.
- Experience in early intervention techniques to support children with diverse needs.
- Ability to understand the needs of children, with little to no-training in this area.
- Ability to create quiet and engaging activities that cater to different learning styles.
- Ability entertain students, without the use of technology.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A nurturing attitude combined with strong organizational skills to manage classroom dynamics effectively.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
