Job Title: Daycare Assistant / Substitute Provider
Little Sprouts Daycare, LLC is hiring! As the proud owner and operator of Little Sprouts for nearly two years, I provide high-quality care for four children alongside my own three (ages 4, 2, and newborn). With my youngest arriving in March, I am seeking a Daycare Assistant/Substitute Provider to assist on workdays or fully substitute when I am unavailable. When substituting, you will care for four children (ages 2–3) who are not my own.
Please review the following details carefully, as the position has specific requirements and involves a thorough interview process.
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with at least three children simultaneously.
- Prior childcare experience with newborns to 6-year-olds.
- Employment in at least three child-related jobs, each lasting a minimum of six months.
- Three childcare-related references and three personal/professional references.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with toddler meal preparation (or willingness to learn).
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Infant and Adult).
- Willingness to be trained in LifeVac use.
- Ability to follow and teach a preschool lesson plan.
- Professionalism and prompt communication (responses within one hour).
- Initiative and a high moral character.
- Successful completion of a state background check (provided at no cost to you).
- Participation in two interviews and two training days with the provider present.
- Capability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Follow a detailed daily schedule (available online). Consistency ensures a smooth day with fewer toddler meltdowns.
- Keep the space clean and well-maintained following the organizational structure in place
- Use the BrightWheel app to log meals, activities, diapers/potty trips, and naps (training provided).
- Serve breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. Meals/snacks are prepped in advance; you will portion and serve them.
- Teach two preschool lessons (materials provided).
- Supervise two outdoor play sessions (morning and afternoon, weather permitting).
- Facilitate naptime (3 hours) in a designated space and monitor using a video monitor.
- Familiarize yourself with all parents/designated pickup persons to ensure proper drop-off/pickup procedures (training provided).
Pay: Competitive, based on experience. Discussed during interviews. Paid per full or half day.
Hours: *All time slots below will be required availability, just not every day
Half Day: 7:30 AM–12:30 PM or 12:30 PM–5:00 PM
Full Day: 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
Availability:
- Part-time, at least once a month.
- Open to discussing a preferred day during interviews.
- Must commit to specific long-term dates (e.g., September 23–26, 2025).
- Availability for occasional sick days is preferred but not required.
Start Date: May 2025 (April availability is ideal; full-time 3-week option available in April).
Commitment: Minimum 1-year commitment required.
