Position Summary:
Little Spurs Urgent Care currently manages 19 locations in San Antonio and Dallas. This VC backed, practice management company has been serving the San Antonio and New Braunfels areas for over 19 years, and we have plans for continued growth and opportunity.
We are seeking Controller to manage the operations of the Accounting Department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, account analysis and payroll functions. The Controller will plan and direct the accounting and financial operations of the parent company and subsidiaries and be an integral part of the leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive related experience
- Demonstrated ability to produce GAAP financial statements in QuickBooks.
- Multi-site healthcare or medical practice experience preferred.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Controls infrastructure and activities of the accounting and finance functions, including a/p, cash management, financial/management reporting, and analysis.
- Manages the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
- Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Works with external auditors and provides the information needed for audits.
- Responsible for quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Paycor and QuickBooks software.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and have attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines.
