Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Department Manager to lead our Maintenance and Facilities department at our large manufacturing facility. The Manager will oversee all aspects of maintenance, engineering, and facilities management to ensure the optimal functioning of our plant infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for the maintenance and facilities department aligned with overall business objectives.

2. Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and facilities staff, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and productivity. Evaluate skillsets and make changes where necessary.

3. Maintenance Management: Oversee the maintenance of all equipment, machinery, and systems to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Develop preventive maintenance schedules and implement strategies to optimize equipment performance.

4. Facilities Management: Manage all aspects of facility operations, including building maintenance, utilities management, security, and safety protocols. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

5. Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective maintenance and facilities management practices.

6. Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery for maintenance and facility-related projects.

7. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, optimize facility operations, and reduce operational costs. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance overall efficiency and performance.

8. Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the department, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Lead investigations into accidents or incidents and implement corrective actions as necessary.

9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to support manufacturing operations and achieve production targets.

10. Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting departmental performance, key metrics, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field; honorable Military history with maintenance background considered in leu of degree.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance and facilities management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

- Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives.

- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as building automation systems.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.

- Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and project management.

- Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and safety standards.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
