Little Treasures Early Childhood Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team. The Assistant Teacher will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. This role is vital in fostering a love for learning, ensuring safety, and promoting the overall development of each child in our care.
Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support: Assist the lead teacher with planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities aligned with our curriculum.
- Child Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of children by maintaining a clean, organized, and supervised environment.
- Engagement: Actively interact with children during activities, fostering curiosity, creativity, and social skills.
- Behavior Management: Support positive behavior strategies and help children develop self-regulation skills.
- Communication: Collaborate with lead teachers and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and needs.
- Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records, such as attendance, daily reports, and developmental observations.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with the teaching team to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Compliance: Follow all licensing, safety, and health regulations to maintain a high-quality childcare environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (CDA or higher education in Early Childhood Education preferred).
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A nurturing and patient demeanor, with a passion for working with children.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Basic understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.
