Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Design Team: Work alongside the Product Designer and product development team to create new product concepts, designs, and collections that align with the brand's vision.
- Design Creation: Assist in designing seasonal collections, themed items, and special-edition pieces from concept to completion, ensuring that each design meets Little Words Project's aesthetic and quality standards.
- Design Specs & Prototypes: Prepare detailed design specifications, sketches, and prototypes for review, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at every stage of the design process.
- Maintain Design Archives: Organize and manage design archives, including sketches, samples, inspiration boards, and other project materials to maintain a streamlined design workflow.
- Brainstorming & Ideation: Participate in team brainstorming sessions to generate fresh, creative ideas for upcoming collections, staying aligned with seasonal trends and brand values.
- Sample Review & Quality Control: Review and provide feedback on product samples to ensure they meet design expectations, quality standards, and production feasibility.
- Timelines & Production Coordination: Assist in managing design and production timelines, ensuring that collections are delivered on time and meet all design and production requirements.
- Product Launch Support: Help prepare materials for product launches, including presentations, sample boards, and cross-channel promotional content.
- Material Knowledge & In-House Support: Provide the in-house production team with the correct bead and materials information, ensuring they have the necessary samples and guidelines to execute designs effectively.
- Package Coordination: Send prototypes, samples, and materials to external partners and stakeholders for feedback and approval.
- Bill of Materials & Tech Packs: Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Tech Packs for each new product, streamlining the production process and ensuring consistency across all items.
- Photography & Visual Requests: Organize photography requests, manage photographer's schedules, and coordinate specific product shoots based on design needs.
- Industry Trends & Innovation: Stay informed about industry trends, new materials, and design technologies. Propose creative improvements and innovative ideas that elevate the product line and keep the brand on the cutting edge.
- Vendor Communication: Assist with communication between Little Words Project and external vendors, conveying design directions and ensuring product details are accurately executed.
- Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Jewelry Design, Fashion Design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in product design or development, preferably in fashion or jewelry design.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or CAD software for jewelry design.
- Basic knowledge of design and production processes, including prototyping and sample review.
- Ability to create clear and detailed design specs, sketches, and product presentations.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
