This individual could be located in any of our offices: Charlotte, NC; Charleston, SC: Durham, NC; Newport Beach, CA, Orlando, FL; or Tyson’s Corner (DC).
We are seeking a dedicated and people-focused Project Accounting Manager with extensive experience in project accounting and analysis, revenue recognition and AEC billing. The ideal candidate for this opportunity is a highly motivated and curious professional who is comfortable in a fast-paced atmosphere. He/she must be organized, have excellent communication skills, demonstrate a positive attitude, and enjoy collaborating in a team environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and mentor a team of project accountants, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Analyze project revenue, cost and budget data to identify and account for project issues and trends
- Work closely with the CFO and leaders across the firm to ensure we are following industry best practices
- Ensure compliance with company revenue recognition and project accounting policies and standards and assist in reviewing and forecasting project performance
- Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies
- Review monthly variance analysis, project budgets, and forecasts
- Review and report project backlog
- Oversee Project Billing, Project maintenance, Project setup, project budgets and general maintenance of projects in the accounting system
- Monitor AR collections activity with the Project Accounting team
- Assist with project reviews, Revenue recognition, forecasting process, project and WIP analysis
- Prepare routine and ad hoc reports as necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project accounting
- Experience with Architecture, Engineering, or other Design oriented firm
- Industry specific ERP systems experience and strong MS Office skills required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data clearly and concisely
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on team collaboration and stakeholder management
