Project Architect: Mixed-Use

Little, nationally recognized as a “Best Places to Work” and one of the nation’s most progressive design firms, is seeking a Project Architect with a passion for high quality design and a positive, collaborative work style, for our Mixed Use | Workplace Studio in our Durham, NC office located in the American Tobacco Historic District.

A candidate we’ll love:

  • You assist in the design and lead the production of construction documents for execution of mixed-use projects.
  • You manage complexity and inspire confidence with clear documentation through purposeful use of resources and time.
  • You lead the project quality reviews, including documentation coordination with consultants;
  • You coordinate with internal resources for production of the project manual and specifications; and
  • You conduct on-site observations and document site reviews.

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture;
  • Architectural registration required;
  • 5 years of professional experience;
  • Mixed-Use or Multifamily project experience is required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Experience resolving complex technical and design issues;
  • Understanding of how buildings are constructed and ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly and accurately describe the work to be done;
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills;
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures;
  • Self-starter and independent problem-solver;
  • A commitment to sustainability as a responsible business practice and approach to design; and
  • Proficiency in Revit required; SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.
