Security and Operations Manager

Littleton Academy offers a Core Knowledge based education with a rigorous curriculum that is provided in a safe and caring environment. The Core Knowledge scope and sequence is based on the premise that we have much to learn from our past. Studying the culture-shaping events, texts, scientific theories, and works of art of those who came before us helps our students begin to understand the events of today. Littleton Academy is seeking a full-time Security and Operations Manager. The start day for this position is flexible and can start as soon as March 1, 2025 or the beginning of next school year.
Primary Responsibilities:
- This position works Monday to Friday from 7:45am to 3:45pm, for 200 contract days per year. Our school is closed for Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break. This position will be required to work evenings occasionally during school events and sports games.
- The primary objective of this position is to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of students, staff, and visitors within the school. This position is unarmed and foremost fosters positive relationships with students as a visible and approachable presence, promoting a sense of trust and community while proactively addressing any security and operations concerns that may arise.
- Cooperate with all employees (administration, teachers, teaching assistants, paraprofessionals, parents and community members) in the common endeavor to educate Littleton Academy students in keeping with our vision and mission.
- Performs foot patrols of exterior school property during morning and afternoon carpool, lunch and recess, and other designated recess periods throughout the day; responds to incidents as a 1st responder and assists other 1st responders in emergencies; responds to emergencies and assists other responders in a professional manner.
- Works with the Director of Operations on special projects such as operations data management, IT systems integrations, environmental, security, and energy data analysis, programming, and management; Monitors and interacts with the school's security and operations systems; assists with facility operations and maintenance as needed.
- Works with the Dean of Students to provide restorative behavior practices, review camera footage, handle Safe2Tell responses as appropriate and other duties as assigned.
- Model the Core Virtues consistently throughout the day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

- Employee may have to encounter: steps, narrow aisles, slick floors, tile floors, wood floors, steep grades, uneven surface, narrow doorways less the 32”, elevator accessibility, ground level entrance, parking, curb ramps and walks, ramps, handrails for ramps, handrails for stairways, table heights, wet/humid, drafts, fumes, odors, gases, noise/vibration. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: near vision, midrange vision, far vision, depth perception, visual accommodation, color vision and field vision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in criminal justice, social services, education, business or related field preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in physical security, security system monitoring, or other-school based experience such as teaching experience.
- Must obtain CPI certification within six months of employment.
- Required to maintain current First Aid/CPR/AED certification during the course of employment in this position.
- Does not have a relative that currently attends or works at Littleton Academy
- English language oral and written communication skills; bilingual candidates preferred
- Interpersonal relations skills; Customer service and public relations skills; Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations
- Personal computer and keyboarding skills; Advanced computer hardware and software skills; Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and Google
- Operating knowledge of and experience with general office equipment, including telephones, copier, fax machine, etc.;
- Knowledge of operating, installing, supporting and maintaining PCs and associated application software preferred at hire.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$95,000 commensurate with experience.
