JOB TITLE: MATERIALS DISTRIBUTION SPECIALIST
FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
DEPARTMENT: MATERIALS MANAGEMENT
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Materials Management, the Materials Distribution Specialist performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to: materials purchasing, internal and external customer service functions, supply shortage and back-order management, purchase order and open order tracking, as well as internal order picking and order delivery. The Materials Distribution Specialist also manages the outdate procedure and cycle count functions within the stockroom and other Hospital department pick areas. This position leads the implementation and physical organization of new supplies and pick areas within the stockroom and all other Hospital departments when needed. The Materials Distribution Specialist provides timely communication and updates to all Hospital departments regarding inventory availability and all stock out resolution strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS:
Candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge of inventory control principles and practices in a warehouse/healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be able to utilize strong analytical skills to manage and maintain appropriate levels of supply inventory to meet the needs of the hospital. This person must be analytical, resourceful, detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable. The successful candidate must have the ability to exercise excellent communication, judgement and customer service skills.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Proven record of accomplishment in inventory management, with healthcare experience preferred. Prior Experience with Microsoft office and MMIS systems preferred.
PHYSICIAL DEMANDS:
Sitting at desk and working on computer and/or phone 30% of workday.
Walking, pushing, pulling <50 lbs 20% of the workday.
Standing and reaching 50% of workday
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Clean, pleasant warehouse and office environment. Occasionally subjected to stressful volume demands and time constraints.
