POSTION SUMMARY
Responsible for the management of assigned physician practices, while maintaining efficient and effective provisions of patient care and services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages day-to-day practice operations, including provider and staff schedules.
- Develops and organizes practice sites to maximize efficient space planning and to maximize the integration of professional support staff.
- Develops and monitors patient flow processes to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for the patient.
- Develops annual budget and business plans, and works within the approved budget. Creates and generates financial and management reports as needed to monitor productivity, revenue and operating expenses. Develops and implements Key Performance Indicators designed to ensure quality, access and provider productivity.
- Plans, directs coordinates and controls activities relating to staff, including hiring, payroll, evaluations and disciplinary action as necessary. Monitors employee satisfaction and turnover and addresses any issues as necessary. Ensures adherence to department and hospital policies and procedures.
- In collaboration with the Nursing Clinical Coordinator, provides direction and support to staff to ensure that they receive appropriate training, orientation and guidance.
- Works with the Finance and Human Resources Departments on any issues as needed.
- Responsible for the planning, organization, implementation and reporting of regular staff and provider meetings to assure consistent and effective communication related to hospital and practice operations.
- Reviews financial and productivity measures with providers and develops and initiates plans for improvement, if necessary, with a focus on meeting or exceeding budget.
- Serves as a key communication link between providers and administration.
- Participates and drives provider recruitment activities and oversees onboarding of new providers.
- In collaboration with the Medical Director, ensures the provision of high-quality care by implementing quality initiatives and supporting the goals and objectives of the ACO.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and licensing requirements.
- Performs other miscellaneous management projects and necessary functions within the practice as needed.
REPORTS TO: Practice Executive
SUPERVISES: Front Office and Clinical Practice Staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration or a related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Two or more years of medical office management required. May consider alternate management experience in a healthcare related setting.
- Must have a working knowledge of physician coding and billing.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and reimbursement model pertinent to a certified Rural Health Clinic.
- Effective use of written and verbal communication skills is essential, with the ability to adapt messaging based on the audience.
- Must have the ability to prioritize and assign work as required to ensure optimal practice operations daily.
- Requires a working knowledge of clinical and financial operations of a medical practice
- Must have knowledge of the use and optimization of Electronic Health Records.
